where's george?

When I was little I used to love collecting anything and everything. Off the top of my head I recall collecting stickers, rocks, leaves, sharks teeth, national geographic magazines and money. My favorites? Rocks(for sure) and money.
Luckily I've grown out of much of my collecting phase, but I still collect money. No, not U.S. money (we all try to do that) but different currencies. I have a whole container (a little mailbox that I got from my teacher when I was in first grade) full of all sorts of coins and bills that either my friends or brothers have brought back for me or I have found and saved. I've got, US dollars (a $2 bill that my grandmother saved for me...she thinks it'll be worth big bucks one day), Canadian dollars, Australian dollars, euros, franks, cordobas, pesos, colones, bahts, rupees, etc. I don't know why, but I love thumbing through those bills. Its so interesting not just to see how different they all are in their design, but also to feel how weathered many of them are compared to others. Whenever I flip through my collection I can't help but wonder where each bill has been. How many people have come in contact with it? What has it purchased? Where has it gone? So i was thinking about this the other day and decided to search "tracking bills" online. It brought me to Where's George.com. You can track dollar bills! I thought it was really cool, so I registered and entered a serial number of a bill. If i had the number I would give it, but either way try it out!

I stumbled upon Where's George too. Its kind of fun to see where "my" money goes, and I sometimes wonder how in the heck did a bill go from point A to point B!? I just started stamping bills in a very low-key way with only WG? so you'd have to search to discover www.wheresgeorge.com
